Our Fort is a port-style wine with a nose full of intense concentrated black currant and cherry aromas. Full-bodied and firm, the palate is crammed with luscious black fruit flavors, dried fruits, smoke, wood, and cocoa.

Chambourcin grapes were sourced from Colucci Vineyards in Upperville, Virginia.
Chambourcin grapes were de-stemmed, crushed, and macerated for three weeks under temperature controlled conditions, then transferred to temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for four weeks for primary fermentation and aging for thirteen months. Cocoa nibs were added during the ninth month of the aging process, prior to the addition of Ruby Red Brandy. The Fort was bottled in December 2013 and June 2014.
Food Pairing Notes
The Fort is particularly good with blue-veined and richly flavored soft cheeses and also pairs well with berry desserts, dark chocolate, and cigars. It also makes for an excellent after dinner drink.
