The 2019 Estate Rosé of Chambourcin leads with a nose of vanilla and strawberry preserves, with just a whisper of shortbread and creme fraiche. The mouth leads with bright flavors of strawberries and tart cherries, with a pleasing, balanced acidity.
Chambourcin grapes were sourced from The Winery at Bull Run’s vineyards at Rock Mill in Little Washington, VA.
Our winemaker, Ashton Lough, has a love for Provence-style rosés that inspired the 2019 Estate Rosé of Chambourcin. Chambourcin grapes were harvested in October of 2019, and immediately de-stemmed and pressed. The pale pink juice was then transferred into stainless steel tanks for temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine was aged in stainless steel until filtration and bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
