The nose of the 2018 Meritage presents aromas of cranberries, cherries and red currant, with hints of barrel smoke, vanilla and baking spices. The palate is bursting with strong flavors of bright red fruits and rigorous, lingering tannins with touches of vanilla and all-spice. A whisper of smokiness finishes this wine nicely.

The Bordeaux varietals in the 2018 Meritage come from The Winery at Bull Run’s Rock Mill vineyard.
De-stemmed, crushed, and fermented in open top vats using the punch down method to turn over the cap and extract the optimal color and flavor. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is pressed into tank, settled, and pumped into barrel. It is then aged in 100% American Oak barrels for 10 months. During the aging process, the wine is racked, blended, and then bottled.
