The Winery at Bull Run’s 2018 Cuvée Blanc starts with citrus rind, kumquat, and white flower on the nose with hints of wet stone. The bright, distinct nose leads into white peach, fresh apricot, and a wonderful crisp balanced acidity finishes with a touch of Asian pear.
The grape varietals were sourced from three high-quality vineyards in Northern and Southern Virginia. Each varietal was picked separately at the peak of ripeness.
Grapes in the 2018 Cuvée Blanc were immediately pressed at harvest and transferred to tank, where they were settled for three days. The clean juice was pumped to tank, warmed to fermentation temperature and the yeast was added. It was cool fermented for 18 days in tank, racked off the lees, blended and aged, at 45 degrees, for four months. The 2018 Cuvée Blanc was bottled on 2.12.19, in a small, club only batch.
