The 2018 Chardonnay was aged half in new French oak barrels and half in stainless steel tanks. Both were stirred on the lees, and then blended. 100% malo-lactic fermentation gives the wine notes of butter throughout. The nose offers hints of homemade pie crust, baked apples and pears. Flavors of butter, cooking spices and pomme fruit round out the palate. Leaning more in the style of a white Burgundy, the 2018 Chardonnay has a fresh, balanced acidity and offers a long finish with a creamy texture and faint traces of oakiness.
This wine has excellent aging potential of up to 6 to 8 years, and would be best enjoyed after December of 2020. This wine would also lend itself well to being decanted to fully open up all of its flavors.
