The Winery at Bull Run’s Delaney was named after the oldest daughter of the Hickox family. The 2017 Delaney exhibits a clear, pale lemon appearance with aromas of freshly cut grass, wet clay, and petunias. On the front palate, Asian pear and candied lemon give way to stone fruit. The back has a slight blood orange like tartness. The acidity lingers to keep the wine present throughout.

The grape varietals were sourced from four high-quality vineyards in Northern and Southern Virginia. Each varietal was picked separately at the peak of ripeness.
Each varietal was lightly pressed on the stems to maintain skin and seed structure, releasing the natural juices of the grape, allowing for true varietal character. Each varietal was then fermented separately and aged entirely in stainless steel. Prior to bottling, the individual varietal wines were careful blended to the winemakers’ preference, ensuring a delicate mix of floral and fruit aromas. The 2017 Delaney was bottled on February 27, 2018.
