The 2016 Traminette is an extremely aromatic wine. A very floral nose amplifies notes of peach and lychee. A racy acidity maintains throughout the palate, underlying a stone fruit front, minty mid-palate, and spicy, mineral finish. As a dry Traminette, it has the girth to pair with lemon chicken or glazed turkey breast.
The Traminette grapes come from Castle Gruen in Madison County, VA.
50% of the Traminette grapes were harvested a few weeks early of peak ripeness, the other 50% were left on vine for a couple weeks after peak ripeness, and then both were combined to make this wine. This process ensured elevated levels of acidity mixed with a rich, broad-bodied wine. Stainless steel fermented and aged.
