The 2016 Norton Reserve is a robustly jammy wine. The expressive nose presents aromas of red berries, rosemary, and earth. On the palate, bright acidity yields notes of winter spices, and a creamy finish.
The 2016 Norton grapes were sourced from The Winery at Bull Run’s on-site vineyard and from neighboring Chrysalis vineyards.
De-stemmed, crushed, and macerated for three weeks under temperature controlled conditions, then transferred to temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for five days for primary fermentation. After fermentation was completed, the wine was transferred into American Oak barrels and aged for 12 months. The 2016 Norton Reserve was bottled on December 3rd, 2017.
Food Pairing Notes
The 2016 Norton Reserve’s mix of acidity and structure makes it a perfect match with pork chops, warm root vegetable soups or salads, and shepherd’s pie.
