The 2016 Norton is a medium-bodied yet robust and earthy wine. The expressive nose presents aromas of roses, evergreen and chocolate. On the palate, bright cherries and plums dominate followed by a finish of licorice and winter spices. Considered the perfect cold weather wine, it makes a great gift for the holiday season.
The 2016 Norton grapes were sourced from The Winery at Bull Run’s on-site vineyard and from Neighboring Chrysalis vineyards.
De-stemmed, crushed, and macerated for three weeks under temperature controlled conditions, then transferred to temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for five days for primary fermentation. After fermentation was completed, the wine was transferred into American Oak barrels and aged for 10 months. The 2016 Norton was bottled on August 30th, 2017.
Food Pairing Notes
