Named after the youngest member of the Hickox Family, the 2018 Lilly’s Viognier is pale yellow in color and exudes aromatics of lime, honeydew, banana, and a hint of wildflowers. Delightful flavors of guava, coconut lime verbena, and honey fill the palate, then smoothly transition into a soft, juicy, and long finish for this medium-bodied wine with a creamy texture and full mouthfeel.

With notes of strawberry cream and raspberry on the nose, the 2018 Lady Adelaide Rosé is a lovely Provence-style Rosé. It is bright and crisp on the front palate and full of fresh strawberries with a long creamy finish that is the result of two months aging on the lees. This is the quintessential summer wine.

Deep pink in color, the 2018 Rosé leads with notes of strawberries and cream, red currants, and cranberries on the nose along with a hint of vanilla and tart cherries. The palate delivers cranberries and ripe strawberries at the front with crisp acidity and a balanced mouthfeel and finishes with a long fruit feel of macerated berries.

This small batch, late harvest Traminette has myriad aromas of wild flowers, orange blossoms, honeysuckle, jasmine, and peonies on the nose. As for the palate, a complex blend of orange rind, honey, apricot preserves, and dried pineapple. It has a well-balanced acidity and a long lingering finish. We think of this as a mixed fruit compote in the form of wine.

The Winery at Bull Run’s 2018 Cuvée Blanc starts with citrus rind, kumquat, and white flower on the nose with hints of wet stone. The bright, distinct nose leads into white peach, fresh apricot, and a wonderful crisp balanced acidity finishes with a touch of Asian pear.

This amazing blend of new and neutral oak, aged Chardonnay allows for the beautiful flavors of the Chardonnay grape to shine while the oak and lees aging adds complexity and intrigue. Light toasty caramel notes on the nose lead into persimmon and honeysuckle. The palate displays bright flavors of Asian pear, starfruit, and orange blossom honey and finishes with an inviting minerality.

Citrus blossom, bright nectarine, and honeysuckle on the nose leads to clean flavors of tangerine, kumquat, and citrus pith with a nice balanced acidity. 

A true Virginia Chardonnay, the nose invites hints of apricots, Granny Smith apples, lime blossoms, and pears. On the palate, flavors of green apples, pears, honeydew melons, and a hint of bread crust. It has a lingering finish, with crisp balanced acidity and a medium feel and structure on the tongue.

The Winery at Bull Run's 2017 Pinot Gris is an elegant wine with a rose gold appearance. It is pleasantly aromatic, drawing you in with notes of baked apples and wet stone.  Its well-balanced acidity and minerality dance on the palate along with flavors of canary melon and pepper blossom, and it possesses a delightfully long, honey finish. With its bold flavors and smooth mouthfeel, this is not your typical Pinot Gris.
