Stage Manager Job Description
Part Time/Seasonal Position
Compensation: $15/hr.

The Stage Manager will work behind-the-scenes to make sure the Haunted Wine Tours run smoothly from start to finish. They will handle the logistics of casting, substitutes, prop set up, and any needs of the show. They will ensure all tours begin on time with the correct guests. The stage manager will be present at all tours to oversee the production of the tour. The job requires the stage manager to be reliable, organized, a problem solver, and possess an understanding of running a theatrical show/tour. Tours will run Wednesday–Friday nights from 6:30–9:30 PM (schedule subject to change) from mid-September to mid-November.

Event Background
Each Haunted Wine Tour is an hour-long, lantern-led walking tour and eight wine tasting through the historic and hallowed grounds of The Winery at Bull Run, where the first major battle of the Civil War took place. Guests will be entertained with tales of shadowy apparitions, orbs, unexplained smells of cannon fire and cigar smoke, staff encounters with the supernatural, and other true Civil War ghost stories.

We are currently seeking energetic, personable staffers to work in a fast-paced customer service environment as part-time Tasting Room Pourers and Utility personnel. Pourers must be positive, engaging, willing to go the extra mile, and excited to share their knowledge of wine and the history of The Winery at Bull Run with our guests while conducting wine tastings. Utility staff will be responsible for greeting guests and stocking wine. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. *Weekend availability is required for ALL positions*

Interns are expected to contribute between 20 and 40 hours per week during the internship. Applicants must have at least two years of college education to apply.

The Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to assist in marketing, public relations, social media, and other promotional efforts for The Winery at Bull Run. This internship will focus on the creation of marketing content on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), including text and graphics, as well as assisting in developing marketing calendars. Other promotional efforts may include drafting press releases, blog posts, and meeting agendas, communicating with vendors, researching marketing opportunities, and interfacing with the public.

We are seeking someone who is self-motivated, creative, energetic, a team player, and interested in a hands-on experience. A unique, clever voice for crafting marketing language and/or experience with graphic design and photography are pluses. Candidates should possess familiarity and/or interest in the winery, events, or hospitality industry; have excellent writing and proof reading skills as well as a professional demeanor; and be social media savvy, highly organized, and detail-oriented. 


Summer: end of May-beginning of August
Fall: middle of August-middle of December

We are currently seeking enthusiastic, creative, and personable individuals to work as part-time Events Interns. Interns will learn the ins-and-outs of event management working as day-of coordinators for weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, birthday parties, and more.  Hours are mostly nights and weekends, but vary depending on event schedule. Internship can be used for college credit.
